We’re just back from the most lovely weekend at the beach with beautiful friends.

I rediscovered this antique shop on the way, it has a new owner and is now one of my all time favourite places.  Do you love the big red scales as much as I do?  They’re huge and I’m trying to figure out where I could put them in my little house (any ideas Courtney?).

I hope that you’ve had a great weekend too.

2012.

I had such a fun start to my 2012 op shopping adventures today.

20 little wooden soldiers and their train.

The most amazing 1960’s doll house and all of it’s pieces.

2011 was mostly another relaxed, uneventful year for us, just as I had hoped.  We had one big setback, but we brought in 2012 all healthy and happy.  I opened my etsy shop, got much better at sewing, enjoyed my family and felt inspired and excited about our future.  Life is good for us and we have lots of plans for 2012.  Happy new year x

(How cool is the doll house??!!!!)

Why, why, why, oh why do I ALWAYS leave everything until the last minute??  I thought I’d quickly share this cute felt cupcake and pan pattern and my resulting cupcakes before I wrap them up for Ivy to give to her “best friend” tomorrow.  It is very easy, but as it is all hand-sewn, it does take a bit of time.  Ivy absolutely loves them and I have promised myself that I will make her some, as well as some big cakes that I have some ideas for also.  I did make her these couple of little ‘biscuits’ while I was at it though.

Hope that you guys are all organised for a lovely Christmas!

I’m loving telling my wide-eyed little girl about what happens on Christmas Eve. She wants to hear it again and again. It seems like the “magic” of Christmas has come back now that we have a little person in our lives and it’s going to be even more fun this year now that she’s a bit bigger.

I resisted the urge to move the five decorations off the one branch of the Christmas tree and let her decorate it as she wanted (lucky she’s only a pipsqueak and can only reach so far!).  We had to make room for the little kiwi buzzy bee and a Christmas kiwi.  I just love how Christmas decorations make the house feel.  My little vintage ball-thingy in the second pic fits in nicely, I only recently found it for 50c, just in time to add another layer of sticky tape to it’s join and put it up for our own Christmas celebrations.

1. Awesome vintage cards that I’ll probably never write in.

2. Debating whether to keep this or put it in the shop.

3.  Still loving my chooks and our new horse neighbour (he’s quite actively involved in the goings-on in our backyard).

4.  Cutest baby socks ever, still unsure whether they are for the shop or to pack away.

5.  This is what I am busy with at the moment.  Complete with all of the coolest coloured vintage zips, still in their packets.

6.  These are delicious as mini-cupcakes, with an orange squeezed into the egg/cream cup and the rind added.

7 + 8.  More shop debates.  I LOVE the romper.

9.  So cool I can barely stand it.  It’s huge, it was $4 and it’s going into my new “studio”.

I am notoriously terrible at getting organised to leave the house.  While I was running around the other day leaving a big mess everywhere, I was told with a big, busy sigh, “Right, Shrek and I are all sorted”.  I had to stop what I was doing to take these photos of my organised little girl.  She’s already so grown up.  Look at all of the things in the bag.  She’s thought of everything, the blackboard dusting rag hanging out of the side is “his hanky”, there’s a drink for her, spare undies (for Shrek) as well as pencils to keep him busy.

This is my absolute favourite of Ivy’s vintage dresses for this summer (an Oscar de la Renta dress from the late 70’s/early 80’s GIVEN to me with a whole pile of the coolest vintage baby clothes ever by Anne.  So very lucky).

I’m looking forward to getting our Christmas tree this weekend, the tree brings with it the smell of Christmas and it instantly makes me feel festive.  I’ve made some very easy and cute decorations this year and I can’t wait to get them up.

* Linking up with little vintage style this week.

(I was also pretty happy to read this blog post yesterday with some of the cute little things from my shop!).

My latest op shopping adventure with my mum has pretty much completed my entire summer wardrobe.  I have never been so happy with the clothes that fill my wardrobe as I am now!  I really only ever wear skirts and dresses, so it has been relatively easy (and lucky) to fill my wardrobe with vintage clothes for summer.

I’m going to try to overcome my phobia of photos of me and show you all of the dresses that I am going to be wearing to death this summer.  The most expensive dress in my wardrobe was $3.00, cheapest 20 cents.  Here is my first, the cheapest (yes, really 20 cents!!!) and my absolute favourite.

This is the best photo that I got too… no show without little punch around here.

Here are my latest creations. They’re both made out of vintage fabrics. I’m starting to feel more confident about drawing basic patterns up myself and then turning it into something real. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to make enough to sell some of these, so hopefully a few might eventually make their way to my shop.
